I used to think I had to drive half an hour into downtown Ottawa in order to get a nice massage at a proper spa, or to treat myself to a fancy mani/pedi. But that’s not true at all – at Bay Street Salon and Spa in Embrun, I’ve not only gotten relaxing prenatal massages and mani/pedis, I’ve also gotten my hair done for my baby shower and had my eyebrows waxed to perfection. All of these services were provided at excellent quality by their kind and friendly staff.
If you go, be sure to check out their paraffin pedicure treatment and their therapeutic massages – especially if you’re nine months preggo like me. They even have a special prenatal pillow that lets you safely lie down on your tummy for a great lower back release. And they are very considerate of your needs and preferences; although mask mandates have been removed for a while in personal care settings, I still prefer to wear my mask to keep myself COVID-free for my delivery. They always make sure to put their masks on when they see me and I get my services done in a well-ventilated area.
